Woman, Wife and Mother

Woman, Wife and Mother

As women, we all need to truly understand how important we are in our homes and why it is extremely important to search within us and find out where we fall short in terms of our mental, spiritual and physical health.   We tend to take care of everyone else and are left with no energy to check on ourselves.  Where are you mentally? Spiritually? Physically?

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 corinthians 2:11

For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

What is so special about being a woman?
Ahhh... well these are some of my favorite characteristics:

1.  A woman has greater constitutional vitality, perhaps because of her unique chromosomal pattern.  Normally she outlives a man by three or four years in the U.S.  Females simply have a stronger hold on life than males.  Even in the uterus.  More than 140 male babies are conceived for every 100 females; by the time birth occurs, the ratio is 105 for 100, with the rest of the males dying in spontaneous miscarriages.

2.  Women have three very important physiological functions totally absent in men... Menstration, Pregnancy and Lactation.  Each of these mechanisms influences behavior and feelings significantly.

3.  Women are more responsive emotionally, laughing and crying more readily.

4. Women's blood contains more water (20 percent fewer red cells).  Since red cells supply oxygen to the body, she tires more easily and is more prone to faint.  (this is exactly how I feel right now as I'm writing this post... ha!)

Interestingly, our perspective towards life tends to be more inwardly directed:

Confidently enticing.  Unlike the male, who must go out into the world to find his destiny, the woman possesses her future within herself.

Values intimacy above action.  A woman cares more about being than doing, and she finds the reason for her being in relationship.

Seeks Security.  Because her orientation is inward, toward relationships, nurturing, and "nesting," the female of the species puts a premium on safety and security.  To a far greater extent than the male, she values qualities like "dependability" and "trustworthiness" in a potential mate.

Caring.  The female is more naturally inclined to respond to the distressed, the needy, or the hurting with immediate compassion and care.

Uses words.  Men talk to communicate information or ideas.  WOMEN talk to communicate feelings and thoughts.  As a result, women tend to use more words than men.

Connecting.  The female is wired to connect with others on many different levels.

Girl, you and I were made with such unique abilities and gifts.  You were made to nurture, to grow, and to lead as a woman, as a wife, and as a mother.

Take a pad and pencil and write down who you are and what your strengths are in each category - Also write down your weakness in each category.

Woman

Wife

Mother

Pray and ask the Lord to give you the scriptures that match up with your description of who you are and begin to meditate on those scriptures.  Also, for each weakness replace it with a scripture of strength.

Let's take special care of ourselves... because He made us to last a long time and to touch one another in your world!

Prayer:  Father, give us insight on who you have created us to be.  As we each meditate on your word, give us the understanding we need to truly grow in your truth about how you see us and what you want for us as women.  Amen!

Ruth
